Pain Management Tips for Pregnant Women

INCORPORATE PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

 

By including regular physical exercises in your daily routine, your back muscles are strengthened and the possibilities of experiencing back pain will be reduced significantly. With the approval of your health care provider, try simple and non-vigorous exercises such as walking. Physical therapies will also benefit pregnant ladies with gentle stretches and exercises that might help relieve any existing pains and aches. For stubborn back pain, you might want to try stretching your lower back while resting your hands and knees with your head aligned with your back. Hold for about 10 seconds before relaxing your stomach, keeping your back flat.

 

 

PRACTICE BREATHING EXERCISES

 

Some people turn to breathing exercises to manage contractions and labour pain. Breathe in deeply in a slow rhythm whenever you experience contractions. Release any tensions you are feeling with each exhalation. In addition, try taking in quick breaths every 2 to 3 seconds in a total of 20 to 30 minutes. Once you noticed that you have lost track of your rhythm, get your partner or buddy to help you regain it with making proper eye contact. Conducting rhythmic hand of head movements are helpful too.
