Set the Record for Largest Number of Babies Being Fed Soft Foods Together!

A new record had been set in the Singapore Book of Records over the weekend at Supermom’s National Weaning Challenge. The event which was graced by Mrs Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office saw the largest number of babies being fed soft foods together at the same time with 82. Hosted by Philips Avent and organised by SuperMom, this challenge was part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness for weaning in Singapore.

In an effort to help parents with the transition, Thomson Medical’s ParentCraft team conducted lactation talks and a live soft-food preparation demonstration at the event.

“Up until six months of age, milk – ideally from breastfeeding – is sufficient to meet the nutritional needs of your baby. After six months of age, relying on milk intake alone is insufficient and it is essential to introduce weaning foods on top of usual milk intake in order to provide all the nutrients your baby requires for healthy growth,” said Mrs Wong Boh Boi, Senior ParentCraft Lactation Consultant, Thomson Medical Pte Ltd.

This Weaning Challenge was held at SuperMom’s Jubilee Baby Bash 2016 - Singapore’s Largest SG50 Play Date held on 8 May 2016 (Sunday) at Marina Square Atrium from 11am to 9pm.
